DESIGN CAMPS
Josef Hoffmann – Reinterpreting
From 25 September 2022, the Josef Hoffmann Museum in Brtnice is presenting students’ projects—created in two workshops—that provide a new, contemporary perspective on Josef Hoffmann’s cultural legacy. The results of the MAK Design Camp held in Brtnice and Obergrafendorf in 2018/19 have already been shown in 2019 at MAK. The MAK Design Camp was carried out within the framework of the INTERREG project Bilateral Design Networks. Design Innovation from Early 20th Century Modernity to Digital Modernity. In 2022 there followed the Reinterpreting Hoffmann workshop at the New Design University St. Pölten (NDU), in which mask-like objects were created from digital and analog three-dimensional interpretations of selected Hoffmann design prototypes.

The exhibition is part of the JH Neu digital / Nově digitální project and is co-financed by European Union funds (INTERREG V-A Austria - Czech Republic programme) and Czech Republic state funds.
