In the role of communicator, Liam Gillick examines existing processes and produces new structures. He considers the design and structural aspects of society and places them in a framework for discussion at the interface of analysis and fictional narration. In his modular objects, installations, and spatial interventions, the artist has used a wide range of materials and approaches. Gillicks extensive writing activity as part of the artistic practice is reflected in textual collages, books, and writings. He is interested in the system of things, which is shown in diverse scenarios and parallel formations, as well as in key positions of economic and political developments.
