MAK Center Los Angeles, Schindler House
The MAK Center realized in the context of this exhibition the last unbuilt Ventilation Shaft of Martin Kippenberger's METRO-Net series in the garden of the Schindler House. The METRO-Net project - documented extensively by drawings, models, CAD prints and photographs - is a series of seven conceptual sculptures - subway entrances, exits and air ventilation shafts - forming a far-flung metaphorical subway system connecting the Greek island of Syros, the cities of Dawson City in Canada, Kassel, Leipzig, Münster, New York City and the Schindler House in Los Angeles.
