About the object:
At Most One Object per Day: Present-day manufacturing processes make it possible to produce completed furniture pieces in seconds—for example, plastic chairs from a single mold. Time and money are tight, and only mass-produced items can compete in the marketplace of short-lived goods. Why don’t we allow more time for production and use?
The Idea of a Tree – Recorder One is the title of an autonomous machine that lets objects such as lamps, stools, or vases grow similar to the rings of a tree. According to location and season, individually shaped and colored small furniture pieces come into being with the help of solar energy. Standing in opposition to an ever accelerating economy, this production method illustrates slow design: regional and in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
